A little bit of this…
That’s right! It’s pickles on a whole new level. Yep, if Snooki could try it I figured that I could as well. For the record, Snooki was right. They are crunchy and sour at the same time. Not bad at all!
Where did I sample this culinary delicacy? Hamburger Mary’s at Drag Queen Bingo! If you are in LA you must go to drag queen bingo. I already like bingo. My mom and I work the bingo circuit in Marco Island. Yep, because I’m that cool. Drag Queen Bingo is Bingo on a whole new level. With call backs, throwing failed cards at winners, and dirty jokes galore it was super fun. It was a very nice night. Thanks to Danielle for organizing!
And now a little bit of that…
Tonight I went on about a 2.5 mile easy run and then came home and made a light dinner of Trader Joe’s multi grain pilaf and yellow peppers, broccoli, and okra.
mmm mmm gooood! Tomorrow is my first day of vacay! Woo Hoo! School starts in a week and a half and can’t wait to chill out! Later!
My One Year California-versry!
One year ago today I drugged up Izzy Cat, packed up several suitcases, enjoyed a final luxe breakfast at the Eliot Hotel Boston and moved to Los Angeles! I cannot believe that it has been a year since I moved to LA. Time has flown by and I have done some much in the past year including…
- Losing 18 lbs
- Got a perma tan
- Starting running
- Learned to drive
- Got a car
- Finished 1L
- Said goodbye to people and hello to others
- Launched Left Coast Contessa
Sometimes I still cannot believe that this is my life! Going to UCLA has been like a fairy tale for me and I feel so lucky that I have had the opportunity to go on this insane journey. Here are some pictures for the past year…
It’s been an awesome year! Here’s to the next one!

Elle Woods Was Right
A manicure can fix anything. Can I just say that I didn’t have an “ideal” day today. And you know what, I was OK with it but I was not OK with accidentally leaving my phone at work. FAIL. Say a prayer that it is still there when I go there tomorrow. Anyways, I was OK until I discovered that I left my phone at work and couldn’t call my cross country support network. Cue the freak out. After I got myself under control I talked to this one…
Shes a good listener, but she talks back. Then I got the manicure and went to Walgreens so I can start on a little home improvement project that reminds me about my family…
Moving to LA has been an awesome adventure, don’t get me wrong, but sometimes I miss having my support network “across the quad”. There is nothing like friends you know. Sometimes 3,000 miles (or 25 if your Catie or 750 if your Kat) is just too far.
The final offensive for a bad mood?
Suit up kids, it’s dinner time!
I put on some music
Roasted veggies (including tomato, zucchini, squash, asparagus, and broccoli) with a cheese risotto. There was also a glass of red wine and some chocolate. Delicious.
I’m off to bed. Fingers crossed that I manage to wake myself up tomorrow AM!
Purple Potatoes
Its true. I love multi color farmers market finds, like these potatoes.
I had a crazy busy work morning and I ran over to Carl’s Jr. for a diet coke on my lunch break. For a moment I wanted fries but then I remembered these wonderful multicolored potatoes and I saved my potato fix for later. I also had brussel sprouts and a small leftover portion of pasta.
Delicious. Today I had to wear a suit to work. Exciting news, my skirt suit is a little loose.
Good things happen when you restrain from fries at Carl’s Jr!
Happy Father’s Day!
Happy Father’s Day to everyone, but especially to my Dad! My father is responsible for my logical reasoning, punctuality and everything I know about athletics. He’s taken me to Paris, London, and Turkey. He’s always been a good role model and taught me the value of hard work and dedication. Thanks Dad, for everything you’ve done for me!

Success
I see this every time I go to the UCLA Gym. I think its an important reminder of how to live life.
