  1. HELLLOO,

Just thought I’d let you know that I follow your blog religiously (or as religiously as my life will allow). I’m from LA (graduated from UCLA this past June!), and I’m at law school now at the University of Michigan. Law school is HARD, and you are so inspiring. I wish I could lose two dress sizes! How do you do it?! How do you go out AND stay on top of your work AND not become a chubster??

    I’m so impressed 🙂

    • Hey S! Thanks for reading my blog. I’m glad to hear you enjoy it.

For me, it’s all about finding a balance. I didn’t start running and blogging until I was halfway through 1L. During my first semester I was so wrapped up in school and I wasn’t very happy. I wasn’t training for major races during 1L so that helped with time. I have plenty of easy “go to” meals that helped me stay healthy (like roasting veggies, squash and quinoa). With time, law school gets better, I promise. After 1L things get easier. You’ve done it before and you work less but better. It took a while to get my groove with school, working out and eating healthy. It took a year to lose 2 dress sizes and I still have to work on balance with studying everyday. Another tip: I came up with boundaries for myself. I stop studying around 9 every night. I make sure I at least spend 30 mins several days a week working out. Those limits have helped but its also important to acknowledge that I’m not going to be perfect and that is totally OK.
